Buying a house by the sea sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? Even Romantic I guess! But there are so many different things to think about when you buy a house by the sea. I didn’t mean to buy a house by the sea, but it just happened. I moved across the country and just bought the first house that I saw. We are literally across the road from the seafront and it couldn’t be more perfect.

You will always be there to get the prime spot on the beach. And you can just pop to the beach after work if the weather is good. You can take your canoe or paddleboard out during lunchtime, if you want. Also living by the sea, you get to know the tides and you can moor your boat in the sea, rather than dragging it to the beach all of the time.

The weather can be lovely in the summer, with a slight breeze from the sea. The breeze can make it cooler in the height of the summer. But in the winter it can be cold and windy, especially if you get the wind coming from the sea. It can be misty some days too. Whatever the weather, it is lovely to sit in the garden with a glass of wine. Whether it is sitting at a garden table or lazing in your garden hammock, the fresh sea air is so good for you.

Different Views All Of The Time

Every time you look out of your window there will be something different to see all the time. A sea-view offers an ever-changing outlook on the world. The sea moves all of the time with the tide,so twice a day, you will get a completely different view of the sea. Some days the sea will be calm and still. Then another day, the waves will be crashing against the harbour wall. There is nothing better than watching the sun rise over the sea in the morning.

You could even rent out rooms in your house for the summer to earn some money. You could rent the house out long term but you would earn more money renting it to holiday makers.

You cannot get fresher sea food than when it comes straight from the sea to the local sea food stall. You can get a variety of different sea foods from the sea front. Your cooking will change, as you learn to cook the different foods.

When you move to a seaside town, there is always a sense of friendliness and spirit about the town. As you take a stroll along the seafront, random strangers will stop and say hello or good morning to you. When you first move away, Your friends and family will all want to come and visit. There will not be a weekend free and you will probably not get any peace and quiet for a few months. But it is okay, the novelty will wear off and you will soon get to enjoy your house on your own. But summer holidays will never be quiet with the grandchildren wanting to stay all of the time.

You Will Feel More Healthy

Being by the sea, the air seems to be cleaner. You are away from a big city and there is not so much pollution. There was a reason why all of the Victorians sent their sick relatives to stay by the sea to recuperate after an illness. You will feel more relaxed, there isn’t so much rushing around. Your mental health will improve because you will feel so good.

There are so many benefits of buying a home by the sea, and it is a decision that you will not regret.
