Cleaning the kitchen can be therapeutic if you crank up your music, pop your headphones in and just get on with it. Awesome Cleaning Hacks For The Kitchen Appliances

  1. If you have a toasted sandwich maker or a small grill/panini maker, you know how greasy and dirty they get. When you have finished cooking, unplug the appliance and place a damp paper towel or tea towel in the press and close it. The steam will clean the grill plates and you just need to wipe it down afterwards. So much easier than trying to wipe the hot plates down.
  2. If you have stainless steel appliances you can wipe them over with a cloth and a bit of cream of tartar. You can buy this from the supermarket.
  3. If you want to clean your blender, put some washing-up liquid inside there with some warm water. Then switch it on for a few seconds. It will get the food out from the hard-to-reach places, like near the blade. Then you just need to rinse it out with clean water and dry it off.
  4. Clean the stains off the inside of the microwave by placing a bowl of clean water inside it. Squeeze a small amount of washing-up liquid in there and switch it on high power for a minute. Then all you need to do is wipe the sides off and it is fresh to use. again.
  5. To Freshen your dishwasher up, place a small plastic tub in there with some white wine vinegar in it. Then put the dishwasher on for a cycle. Then run it again with a hot wash and some sprinkled baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher.
  6. To get the crumbs out from your toaster, pull the tab at the bottom and it will empty most of them away. If there are any other crumbs you can brush them away with a small pastry brush

  1. If your kitchen is a small area, then you can pull out a kitchen drawer and place a large hopping board on the top. This then acts as an extra work surface to prepare food. You just need to make sure that the drawer is sturdy enough.
  2. If you have forgotten to get some more scourers to clean your oven trays or glass dishes. Get some silver foil or tin foil and scrunch it up. Then add some washing up liquid and water to scrub the oven ware.
  3. If your tiles need cleaning in the grout, use a little bit of colour to get rid of any discolouration. This will help around the areas of the oven and the sink.
  4. Your dishwasher isnt just for cleaning dishes. You can also use it to clean toys, washing up bowls, dustpan and brushes and so much more.
  5. if your fridge has an unpleasant smell, you can place a container of baking soda in there and it will draw all of the odours together and leave your fridge smelling fresh and clean.
  6. If your saucepan lids get in the way, pop them in a drawer and just get them out when you need them. This helps keep the sides free and stops them from falling on the floor.
  7. If you have a gap between your fridge and a work surface or kitchen cabinet, get a slim set of shelves and add some wheels on the bottom. This is a great idea for storage.
